S.L.I.M. provides relief to distressed individuals and communities by:
- Reducing neighborhood tensions
- Securing services conducive to the general progress and welfare of the community
- Feeding families
- Providing counseling services
- Providing financial literacy
- Providing transitional housing to individuals released from prison
- Providing leadership training
